A registered charity in England that aims to promote understanding of all aspects of head injury and to provide information, support and services to people who have suffered a head injury, their family and carers.

Our sister organisation covering Sussex. A non-profit organisation promoting understanding and providing information for ABI sufferers in Sussex.

UKABIF
Our umbrella organisation is a not-for-profit coalition of organisations and individuals that seeks to promote understanding of all aspects of acquired brain injury and to provide information and expert input to policy makers and others to promote the interests of people with brain injuries and their families throughout the UK.

NATIONAL SERVICE FRAMEWORKS FOR LONG TERM CONDITIONS

Independent Complaints Advocacy Service (ICAS)
ICAS was commissioned by the Department of Health to give people support if they have a complaint regarding their National Health Service treatment. It is run by SEAP, (South of England Advocacy Projects) an independent charity whose services are free of charge.

CHILD BRAIN INURY TRUST (CBIT)
Is a national charity for the support of brain injured children and their families. Includes details of local CBIT groups.

BRAIN INJURY SOCIAL WORK GROUP (BISWG)
A special interest group of the British Association of Social Workers.

The Information Access Toolkit
Produced by the Brain and Spine Foundation in association with the Neurological Alliance and LMCA, this was launched at the Spinal Injury Association Centre on Thursday 15 March 2007, as part of Brain Awareness Week. The web-based Toolkit is the outcome of a project which aimed to support health and social care professionals to meet the information needs of people affected by neurological conditions.

Health Professions Council
The Health Professions Council (HPC) was set up to protect your health and wellbeing. To do this, they keep a register of health professionals who meet HPC standards for their training, professional skills, behaviour and health. There are currently 13 health professions that they regulate. Each of these professions has a ‘protected title’ and anyone who uses one of these titles must register with them.
